Local Athlete Journal aims to make local sport easier to understand and take part in. We value accuracy, independence and plain language, and we make our standards visible when a piece needs correction or carries a commercial relationship.

Accuracy and care

We check factual statements against appropriate sources before publication and distinguish general guidance from opinion. Where a topic depends on specialist expertise, safety requirements or rules that vary by sport or location, we avoid presenting a single answer as universal and direct readers to the relevant qualified or official source when needed.

Independence and corrections

Editorial decisions are made for reader value, not to secure a partnership. If we find a significant error, we correct the article and explain the change where appropriate. Readers can use the Contact page to flag inaccuracies, unclear wording or missing context.

Commercial material

Paid or partner material is identified clearly where it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and commercial relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions.
